The Ovulation Detection service we provide is by Vaginal Cytology. It is offered as a guide to achieving the optimum mating time during the bitch's season.

 

It is in no way a guarantee that your bitch will become pregnant, as nature still plays a part. It is, however, a most useful method of detecting cell change, as the cells change dramatically when the bitch enters her most fertile stage.

It is not a blood test.

The vaginal swabs, are taken over a period of 5 to 10 days, depending on your bitch, and will determine the day in which the cells mature, and the increase in cell layers. From this information we can guide you as to the optimum mating times.

If you suspect your bitch may be an early ovulater then it maybe necessary to start the swabs from day 3.

 

 

It is possible for you to take the swabs yourself, and send them back to us for analyses. Just pay for this service using paypal button at the bottom of this page and we'll post them to you using Next day delivery service. An information guide will also be sent. It is assumed that you are experienced in handling dogs.

1 kit consists of 3 swabs, 1 saline pod, one info sheet and 1 return address envelope.
